Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.5.8 Build 20230619 Rel. 48552

hi I have a few questions about my new Deco M4's - configured as APs, to a Technicolor Telstra Home Gateway router.

1. How do I know whether the ethernet backhaul is connected at 1000Mbps, 100Mbps, FDX/HDX?

2. Why does the network crash when ethernet backhaul ports are connected direct to the router switch ports, but when I install an intervening dedicated switch it works ok?

Cheers.

Hi, Currently, the Deco APP does not support displaying the Ethernet link speed. You could test the current wireless or Ethernet speed directly from the main Deco to indirectly find out the current link speed.

Or on the beta firmware 1.7.0 here, Deco APP will report an error message when the Ethernet WAN speed is lower than 1000m/s.

Deco M4/S4_V2 Support Connection Preference

As for the second question, here "the network crashed", do you mean the Ethernet Backhaul is not working and satellite M4 units are still on wireless Backhaul, or have the whole Mesh system dropped out?

If it is the second one, I think the Technicolor Telstra Home Gateway router might detect there is a network loop, and then block the connected ports of Deco.

General questions about Ethernet Backhaul feature on your Deco (Q5)

Thank you very much and best regards.
