Deco M5 Firmware 1.7.4 causing chaos
Hello,
I upgraded my system to v1.7.4 this evening, and now devices are losing connectivity at random. My units appear to have upgraded successfully; occasionally I am getting a message telling me that I have 'abnormal WAN port speed'. I have not seen this before.
Those devices that can connect are running normally.
Anyone had any problems with the new firmware?
Thanks
Andy

Hi, May I know how much of your internet bandwidth?
If APP reported "abnormal WAN port speed", the WAN link speed might be below 1G/s at that time.
For 1.7.4, It barely changed anymore compared to 1.7.3, mainly fixed several security risks. Personally, I don't think it caused the disconnection.
Can I have the model number of the mobile devices that dropped out frequently?
How often would they drop out? And are you able to constantly reproduce the same issue?
Please also try to completely restart the whole Deco M5 mesh system once to see whether it helps.
PS: 1.7.3 could revert to 1.7.4 directly via web UI.
Wait for your reply and best regards.

Hello there,
Would just like to add that this likely isn't a standalone issue. I run a Deco network of M5s on the latest firmware and have been experiencing this exact same issue. I have reset the network but to no avail.

@choggar My two extended units flashing blue. Reset LED goes green for a minute then back to flashing blue.

Im having the same issue, my wifi speeds are slow, the internal app speedtest keep on failing, the mesh sometimes doesn't work sometimes between decos.
I have reset ALL the decos, checked for updates, uninstall and reinstalled the APP trying to cover my basis.
Any resolution so far ?
