"Again not promoting running beta software" had the device from the time they released it, waiting 6-10 months for bug fixes, im sure there are a few people who love to keep the device and try to handle the bugs themselves

@NPGrey Can I have the model numbers of the two SFP modules? We will also escalate your case to the support engineers for further investigation.

@NPGrey Thank you very much for the information.

I will forward these details to the engineering team to verify the specifications of the two SFP modules and confirm their compatibility with the BE800.

  @TW-Kang

I think they are all the same hardware model with slight variation as you can see on GPON Hack where they liste the Huawei, fscom, Nokia etc... being the same hardware with different firmware realistically they would all behave the same on the BE800/BE900 where they get sync at 1Gbps. I guess TP-link helped some geek enthusiasts by providing a beta firmware where yuo can execute a command manually after each boot. Until TP-link realize there is a significant part of the market and not only geek enthusiast using there device with this SFP, then we won't get a firmware supporting 2.5Gbs on those sfp. So if others are reading and using the manual hack let tp-link know there is actually a market and we might get this fix in the next firmware!

  @benoitm974

I think there's a difference in hardware for the TP-Link routers even though they say v1.6.

For me the commands you provided work on the BE800 and enable 2.5g on the device I bought in June, but they run at 1g on the same beta firmware on the device I bought in march.

The march one came with a 5A power adapter, the June one came with a 3A power adapter.

P.S: Still waiting for a reply from tp link tech team who were out on holiday since a few weeks now.

I was talking same hardware for the SFP stick, for BE800 I don't think we have clarity to what are the difference between 1.0 1.6 so far it seems all the code running on both is the same. Even if you download the US only 1.6 you get the same 1.0 all firmware... So I guess from a software they run the same ...

@benoitm974

We are aware of compatibility challenges between our SFP port and certain GPON modules, impacting high-bandwidth applications. We're diligently working to resolve these issues. Given the variety of GPON brands, some modules may have difficulty establishing a 2.5G connection with our BE800/BE900 models. Our engineering team is actively addressing this, and we encourage customers to provide feedback on whether their GPON devices can successfully negotiate with the BE800/BE900.

We value all feedback on the compatibility of your GPON devices with our routers including BE800/BE900. Your understanding and support are greatly appreciated.
