Model: Deco S7
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.4.5 Build 20231128 Rel. 64440

Hello everyone,

I'm a happy owner of a Deco S7 Mesh system. First time using them, i got an issue related to the red blinking lights on all Deco's, but fortunately i got the solution when i updated to the beta firmware version found in the following thread:

https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/627576

Now, from the update that released days ago, the red blinking is back. There are no problems with the internet, and the LED option is set to off.

The firmware version that all 3 units are running on is: 1.4.5 Build 20231128 Rel. 64440

Hopefully, based on this thread, there will be a solution again.

Thanks in advance,

  @TRadu000

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.

After confirming with the senior engineers, this issue will be fixed on the official firmware 1.5.x.

I also updated post 627576 with the latest beta based on the 1.5.0 version.

Best regards.

  @David-TP ,

Now that the blinking red problem has been solved, now i encounter drops of the internet connection. Sometimes, and seems to happen often, i got no internet connection on all of my devices for about 10 seconds, even on LAN or wireless. I've contacted my ISP and they told me that there are no PPPoE failures logs or other inconsistency.

All of the Deco's got now the Beta update.

Maybe this will be fixed in the official update?

Thanks in advance,

This has been annoying me since I bouight them, tried all sort and in the end gave up.

Can we get the update to be none beta soon?  What's the stop from releasing it?

Going to try it now I have some time.

Any chance it can match the 1.6 platform of the S4 to level the features in my network, the S7 is newer afterall.

  @TRadu000

Hi, sorry for the delay.

Were you able to constantly reproduce this issue in a short time?

Would the internet restore itself automatically or is there something that you need to do to restore the connection, like a reboot of Deco S7?

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  @TheGuyNextDoor

Hi, Do you mean whether you could roll back from the 1.5.0 beta to the official 1.4.5 firmware?

Yes, but it needs to be implemented via firmware recovery-HTTP Uboot Method.

How to use firmware recovery on Deco

Best regards.
