IPV6 Failing after 30 Minutes
IPV6 Failing after 30 Minutes
Hi, I had fibre broadband fitted today and I am using the BE65 Mesh system, before on my PPPOE connection my TP link was publishing IPv6 addresses fine, but now on fibre it isn't. My ISP said the settings are DHCPv6 for WAN, Prefix delegation of /56 and it is Stateful and Dynamic. The IPV4 is set to Dynamic IP.
my IPV6 settings are set to Dynamic IP and everything is in auto, with Prefix Delegation toggle turned on, it states an IPV6 address but with a /64 prefix under IP address.
My Apple devices state they are getting 3 IPV6 addresses, 1 under Router that starts fe80 and 2 under IP Addresses, one starts fbd2 and the other starts 2a10, but when I run any IPV6 tests they state I don't have IPv6 working? Is the prefix wrong? If so how can I change it as their doesn't seem to be any options to.
Any help appreciated.

I know the SLACC is wrong so I changed the Assigned Type back to DHCPv6 and left the other setting on Stateful and it still worked
@MarkyR74 The statement "SLAAC is wrong" is absolutely false. It's one of the prominent ways of assigning IP addresses in an ipv6 network, even the "preferred" one to some.
Keep in mind that Android devices still don't support DHCPv6, they only support SLAAC.
Try setting the assigned type to "SLAAC + RDNSS" and get ipv6 address to "auto"

@ImtiazAli I mean that is the wrong setting as advised by my ISP, anyway I set it up as you suggested and it was exactly the same, IPV6 stopped working after 30 minutes.

@David-TP Thank you so much David, that's fine. I did go on the chat with the TP Link support last night but it was late and they advised me to do something that disconnected the chat and it was too late for me to get back to them, so escalating it for me is very appreciated. Thank you for your help.
I have received your email.

@MarkyR74 Don't take ISP's advice when setting up ipv6

Hello, Hi,
Are you was able to resolve this issue? I have the very same issue, and i am sure i understand problem.
I have from ISP DHCPv6 assignment on wan, and DHCPv6-PD for LAN asignment. After reconnect, everything works fine, but after 1 hour, ipv6 stops working.
ISP give me prefix delegation /48 with lease time 1hour, but my Tp-link EC230-G1 doesn't renew PD assignment after lease expire, so on ISP router my ipv6 route disappear, but tp-link think, he still has prefix valid (shows prefix in gui), despites one hour of lease already pass.
Tplink also ignores settings per LAN DHCPv6, where i set 1 hour lease, and still give me lease with 3-day validity.
Is there any suggestion from vendor?
Regards
