Hi,

I just bought this nice device. I am wondering if I can work with a surge strip in two ways:

1) power socket -> Tapo 110 -> surge strip -> device

2) power socket -> surge strip -> Tapo 110 -> device

Are the two options safe? Should I avoid one/both of them?

Many thanks for youu advice and help!

Stefan

The second one.  2) power socket -> surge strip -> Tapo 110 -> device

It is not suggested to connect a power strip to a smart plug. In general, a plug has a smaller maximum load capacity than a power strip. Furthermore, overload devices (for the smart plug) can be easily attached to the power strip without awareness, increasing the risk of product damage.
