Apologies, I mean the BE550 V1.

So the decision to move was accelerated this weekend when my 7 month old BE550 router decided to give up.

I took the opportunity to switch to Ubiquiti and what a difference! It's pricey but I'll be replacing the rest of my gear over the next couple of months.

 Another valid option is ASUS. They allow extension of the Guest and IoT networks on Wifi 6 and Wifi 7 routers provided the router models you choose support "Guest Network Pro". 

Not cheap routers but then again, neither are TP Link Wifi 7 routers from the BE550 upwards. 

It's ridiculous that the TP Link current top of the line routers dont support Guest and IoT mesh extension and its shiocking there is zero measurable commitment to ever do it.

I decided last year to remain on WiFi 6 when I needed to replace a router - because I didnt trust TP Link to sort this on WiFi 7. I will not run their Deco mesh connected to an Archer via Access Point mode as a solution either (and I wouldnt trust them not to drop the Deco App - if they do, you are in deep trouble as there is no Archer equivalent web interface for Deco routers).

FYI - if this support ever appears in any firmware then look for references to support for  EasyMesh R3 or Traffic Separation. That would indicate movement on this.

therefore, make it happen to be able to select multiple (at least) 2,4Ghz SSIDs to be extended when establishing EasyMesh Network 

 

as things are now we can do only:

1. not use Guest and IoT Networks and have all devices and guests on the main wifi network
2. buy 4 more extenders to extend Guest and IoT Networks in two directions (UNACCEPTABLE) and even with those 4 more extenders they won't be part of EasyMesh
3. complain, suggest future request, wait and finally sell all TP-Link faulty products and move to other brand which supports such basic functionality
