Model: Archer C6   RE705X
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.3.7 for archers and 1.0.2 for RE705X

House network diagram

So my network currently looks as on the attached diagram. I use main Archer C6 as a router and rest of the Archers as access points for LAN and WLAN. Basically it's one big LAN network, main router's WAN port is connected to ISP Router LAN port and all the additional Archer routers are connected to main Archer LAN ports with their LAN ports (something tells me this is important info since they are not contected via WAN port). So far this network works but it's pretty anoying having to change Wi-Fi network on my phone every time I go downstairs so I wanted to try out the OneMesh.

Today I received RE705X repeater which was listed on OneMesh compatible devices page. I connected it through Wi-Fi to the main Archer C6 and tried to enable OneMesh through Main router using Theter app. After a while of loading... Nothing happend. Later I found out it automatically extended wifi of other Archer router. So far I managed to make OneMesh network of main router and RE705X by turning off OneMesh on other Archers when RE705X decided to connect with them but I still cannot add other Archers to OneMesh network.

So here are my questions:

  • Can the OneMesh work as I was hoping it would, allowing me to connect all my archer routers and RE705X creating one big Wi-Fi?
  • Should I change something in my network configuration to allow OneMesh to work with other Archers?

TO connect all your routes in mesh network they have to support Easymesh (not Onemesh).

Archer C6 v2 supports only Onemesh, that means you can connect one or two Onemesh capable REs - check this FAQ.
