Model: TL-MR100
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2

Hi I'm new to Routers, network, IT knowledge in general, I wanna ask several questions. I have this setup where my TL-MR100 is become an access point from another router (from another brand), since I use my LAN1 as an input from the main router, how can I connect my PC using ethernet cable to my TL-MR100?

Does the only way is by buying a network switch?
Then what does LAN2/WAN port is for in general?

Also does my TL-MR100 can receive 5G Band frequency?

Thank you in advance

Hi

It seems that you want to configure TL-MR100 in wireless router mode, so you may need to connect the main router to the LAN2/WAN port of MR100 via wire. The configuration method is as follows:
 1. Log into the Web UI via http://tplinkmodem.net.
 2. Go to Advanced -> Operation Mode and select Wireless Router Mode.
 3. Go to Advanced -> Network -> Internet, then click "Add" to configure the corresponding Internet parameters, and ensure the Internet works with the Ethernet WAN connection.

After successful configuration, you could connect LAN 1 port to the PC using an Ethernet cable.

By the way, TL-MR100 only supports 4G and below.
