Range Extenders Every day randomly an incorrect IPV4 address (auto. configuration)
Hi
Maybe someone can give me a tip.
Problem: Every day or every 2 days I do not get a normal IPV4 address with 192.168.xxx but a 192.254.xxx address for whatever reason.
Environment: My computer is connected to the Internet router via Ethernet.
I have two TL-WA850RE 7.0 in use. One of them as an access point and the other as a normal range extender.
I have had this problem for months. That's why I bought a third TL-WA850RE 7.0 because I thought the one in range extender mode was broken. However, the new one and the old one behave exactly the same.
As long as only the access point is in operation, everything is ok. As soon as I plug in the range extender, everything works smoothly for the time being.
If I then start my computer, my IPV4 address may be (auto-configured) and I get this strange address 192.254.xxx.
As a result, all IPV4 websites no longer work.
My solution: As soon as I unplug the range extender, my computer immediately gets a correct IPV4 and everything works.
For both TL-WA850RE I have set DHCP to automatic
Does anyone have any idea what I need to change to make this work without constantly unplugging?
PS: I have also tested two other laptops which have exactly the same problem when one is not working. they all get the wrong IP address. That means it's not my computer
