Model: Deco XE75 Pro
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: latest 2024

Hi,

I have 2 sites, both have Deco XE75 Pro mesh systems.

I setup a VPN with the new option in FW as follow:

NetA: 192.168.1.x range, OpenVPN server, Home network only

NetB: 192.168.2.x range, OpenVPN client, select client only

However, the selected client on NetB cannot ping any clients in the 192.168.1.x range.

The app shows VPN connected on both the client side and the server side.

Anything I'm missing ?

Thanks,

Hi

Did you choose TCP or UDP? Deco does not support UDP's NAT Loopback. If you configure a VPN server on deco using a UDP-based VPN protocol, and try to connect to the server from the local network, you will not be able to connect. If there is a need to connect to the server from the LAN side, Select TCP in Service Type.

Thanks for the reply !

Good catch, it was indeed UDP.

But as soon as I switch to TCP, the select client in NetB looses internet connectivity.

I've also tried testing with home network+internet access option in the VPN server settings in the app, but NetB remains unreachable.

As soon as I remove it from the client list or put it back to udp, the client in NetB gets connected back to the internet.
