I want to connect from my University dorm network point to my router, which i got it through the Telco. The moment when I tried to set up it, the internet lights will go off.

I was told that my router is ISP locked by my school IT department. I can't upgrade the firmware as well. Is there any way to bypass this issue or do I have to get another new router ? Please advise.

Hi, thanks for posting question here.

There is a port for internet access in your dorm, right?

Usually, when you connect the router to this port via Ethernet cable, even though there is no internet, the Internet LED on the router should be orange or red.

If the internet LED is off, you may change another Ethernet cable for a try. BTW, if you connect a wired PC to the port via same cable, can you access internet normally?
