Model: Archer AX55
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: Last

Hey everyone! Since I got the router it keeps disconnecting randomly every 6-20 hours.

I never had any similar issue with the internet connection that powers the router before and what makes it strange is that whenever that happens the web portal shows this error "operation failed"

I just need to reboot it and it's completely gone.

It looks like the router is someone crashing? I've tried a reset as well as changing the AP/ROUTER mode but it doesn't seem to be helping.

I've looked at the logs but it seems like they are erased upon reboot?

Any idea what I'm missing? Thanks guys!!

But why does the modem becomes inaccessible when it looses internet, that sounds strange no?

I can't answer for the crashing issue but you should still be able to access the router GUI Web page via mobile or laptop(wired/ethernet)

I know when my Internet has dropped out my wifi for whatever reason makes my devices disconnect from the wifi 🤷🏼‍♂️

But I can reconnect when I open the wifi settings on my phone it shows me the wifi network and if I reselect it it will either say connected but no Internet or I think I've seen a message pop up saying no Internet  access connect anyway?

You should then be able to go to the Web page gui and log in or possibly use the tether app tp get into the router as you'll then be connected to the router locally not via the cloud.

Hi

We suggest logging into tplinkwifi.net and navigating to advanced > System > Reboot > Reboot schedule to activate it. Please then monitor if the issue persists.

If the problem persists, kindly provide the following details:

1. Could you share the specific topology of your home network? For example, modem-ISP router-Archer AX55-switch.
2. We recommend that when encountering the issue, connect your device to the AX55's Wi-Fi and check the IP address. Here's how to find the IP address on your devices.
3. What was the light status when the problem occurred?
4. When was the product purchased?

  @Joseph-TP  I have exactly the same problem. I have an Archer AX55 Pro V1. It starting happening after updating to 1.3.1 Build 20240426 rel.31941(5553). Before that it was very stable.

I disabled the fireguard server. This improved the daily crashes but I still have to reboot manually 2 or 3 times a week.

I have it scheduled to reboot daily early in the morning but it might still crash between noon and midnight.

Can't login to the web interface or with tether to check logs. Modem still has internet connection.

Other devices connected directly to the modem with a wired connection still work.

When it fails the LED lights are off. Rarely a random light might be red.

Is there a beta version I can test or a way to downgrade to the previous version? I tried downgrading to Archer AX55 Pro(US)_V1_1.2.3 Build 20231103 with the web interface but it fails.

@TP4MyBungWhole

When the device crashes, is the Wi-Fi network still available? Can you see or connect the wireless?

Are there any EasyMesh or Onemesh satellite devices connecting to the AX55 Pro? If yes, what are the models?

Who is your ISP?

  @Kevin_Z

Yes when it crashes wifi is still active and I can connect but on my phone it shows a ! next to the wifi icon which means there is no internet connection. The web interface loads but doesn't login with the local password.

My ISP is Claro. I have 2 easymesh satellites model TL-WPA8631P.

It crashed again last night. This time all led lights remained green.

@TP4MyBungWhole

Thank you very much for your detailed information.

Is it possible to observe whether the crash issue persists after removing the WPA8631P EasyMesh satellites from the AX55 Pro's network?

  @Kevin_Z

I can't remove the WPA8631P but I removed them from easymesh and disabled the scheduled reboot to see how long it lasts.

I can't see the memory usage of the router but think it might be caused by a memory leak:
- Kids come home and connect their devices. If it didn't crash earlier, most of the time it crashes less than an hour later. It's guaranteed to crash at least once a day.
- I turned off the wireguard server (more memory available?). Most days it lasts all day and when it fails it's usually close to midnight (memory lasts longer?)
