Model: Tapo P115
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.1 Build 240621 Rel. 162048

Hello,

I recently purchased a Tapo P115 Smart Plug and I successfully configured it on the Tapo Android App. Now I want to add the P115 device also in my Deco app (that controls may Deco M5 Mesh network) and I am not able to do so.

I am doing the following steps:

Go to Smart Home - Add Smart Device - TP-Link Tapo - Smart Plugs - Tapo P115

It asks me it the Tapo LED is blinking Pink and Blue

If I enable the LED blinking I am getting an error that the deco Firmware is not compatible with the Tapo device.

My Deco Android app is on version 3.8.49 and the Deco M5 devices are or Firmware version 1.7.8 Build 20240719 Rel. 70981.

Is there a way to get my Tapo P115 to work simultaneously on Deco and Tapo apps? If so, which are the steps I need to follow?

To enhance device security, Tapo and Kasa recently upgraded to the new security protocol, KLAP. However, some models of Deco routers have not yet synchronized with this protocol. As a result, the latest security protocol-enabled Tapo/Kasa devices cannot be added to the Smart Home section, and an error message may appear: "The current firmware version of the Deco router is not supported. Please check if there is a newer version and update before continuing."

Your Deco system does not support the latest Tapo security protocol yet, so now the only way to manage the smart plug is through the Tapo app.

Thank you for your response. Is there any roadmap to update the Deco M5 Router Firmware to become compatible with the KLAP Protocol?

Regards,
