Unable to connect wireless devices to added Deco
All, I have just purchased an additional X50 to add to my existing network, consisting of 1 main and 2 satellite units (all X 50's)
I have followed the procedure on the app and the new deco is connected to the Main unit fine.
However I cannot get the other units to see the new Deco, nor can I get any wireless device to connect to it
I'm certain I have missed something in the set up, but cannot see what it is.
Any suggestions gratefully recieved

You are logged in to the main Deco, which is V1. The firmware is for V1.2. Log in to the "Office" and "Dad Pad" individually over using the respective IP address and perform the update from there.

@delong91 @david_tp I have now logged into all my 3 original deco's to upgrade the firmware as suggested (1.2.0 build 20240828 rel 84587).
I managed to sucsessfully upgrade the "Dad Pad" and "living room" units but, when I logged into the "Office" Deco the upgrade failed. Error message "Please select the latest version of firmware".
As you can see from the attached, the "office" Deco remains on f'ware 1.2.0 Build 20231229
Whilst the Network map on the app shows everything is ok, and the "living room" deco now connects to the new "Garden room app (as I expected). The Network map on the UI shows a connection failure. Yet everything seems to be working ok. Finally I still appear to be unable to connect any wireless device such as iphone or Alexa, to the "Garden room" deco which is still showing it has "no clients connected" despite the fact the App network map show it connect to both the "living room" and "Office" Decos.
So to summarise
- I am unable to upgrade the software on the "Office" Deco from1.2.0 Build 20231229 rel 43148
- The UI network map shows connect failure, contradicting the Metwork map on the app
- Other than other Deco's I cannot get any wireless device to connect to the "Garden room" deco
Any suggestions ?

Paul

Hi Paul, Thank you very much for your messages in the community.
Could you please also help me submit the Deco APP log here: How to submit Deco APP log
By the way, for the firmware on the main "Office" Deco, if possible, it is suggested that the three satellite units be temporarily powered off and the main Deco restarted.
- After that, if you try to upload the 1.4.5 firmware to the main Deco again, will it succeed this time?
Wait for your reply and best regards.

@David-TP I have tried your suggestion, powering off all satellite Deco's and then attempting to upgrade the main "office" Deco. But without luck. The "office" is still on 1.4.5 build 20240828 Release 84587
I have also submitted the Deco App log, so you should have recieved them. When you have reviewed them please come back and suggest next steps

@David-TP update on my last post. Wifi devices, other that the Deco's arwe now connecting to the "garden room" Deco, which was one of the oringinal issue.
the oinly issue outstanding would appear to be that I cannot upgrade the firmware on the main "office" Deco.
Please advise

Hi, Thanks for the update.
I checked your TP-Link ID and for now, all the Deco X50_V1.2 units have been updated to the latest 1.4.5 version. (The only one with firmware 1.5.5 is Deco X50_V1.0).
So did you also fix the firmware upgrade issue on your own?
Best regards.

@David-TP David, it does appear that the Office Deco has updated to the latest firmware version, when I'd attempted the download with the "satellite" deco's powered off. It just seems it took some time before it appeared on the Deco.
However, since the firmware update on the main "Office" deco. The broadband speed I'm getting has dropped.
I have 1Gb broadband, throught a Virgin Media Hub 4. This hub is set to be in "Modem" mode to allow the "Office" Deco is act as the router. But since the upgrade the speed is down to @1Mb even when I do a speed test through the wired PC.
To check that the issue is not on the broadband itself, I disconnected the Deco's, connected the PC directly to the virgin media hub, which was put back in "router" mode and carried out another speed test, This time the speed was @950Mb, what I would expect.
I have reconnected the Deco's, put the Virgin Media hub back in Modem mode and tried another test, but I'm only getting 1.5 Mb. Ican only assume there is an issue with this version of firmware on the "office" Deco. As the Deco has always worked satifactory before.
Any suggestions ?

--Did the speed loss start just after updating from 1.2.0 to 1.4.5?
- Would it make any difference after restarting both the VM hub and main Deco X50?
- How about the wireless speed from Deco? is it also capped at 1-1.5mbps?
Wait for your reply and best regards.

@David-TP David, yes the drop in b'band speed did start, just after the upgrade of the "office" deco to the new firmware. I have tried rebooting everything without sucsess.
The wireless speeds between deco's seem to be ok, but is there a away of testing this ?
At present the broadband speed I am getting is so slow as to be unuseable, so any response or suggestions as to next steps are eagerly awaited
Thanks

Hi, I suggest we should try to set a different Deco X50-1.4.5 as the main Deco.
How to replace the main Deco with another Deco
"The wireless speeds between deco's seem to be ok, but is there a away of testing this ?"
Since the 1-1.5mbps speed was only tested on the wired PC, I think you could use your mobile phone or any other mobile device to connect to the Deco WiFi network and run the speed tests.
At the same time, please also check the following settings:
1. replace a new Ethernet cable to connect the main Deco X50 to VM Hub.
2. make sure the QOS has been disabled under Deco APP>More>QOS.
Wait for your reply and best regards.
