Apparently cloud videos can only be viewed through theTapo app?? But what happens if the smartphone I use for the system is lost or stolen? Can the videos not be seen through my Tapo account on a PC browser (or in some other way)?

Thanks

Tapo app does not have PC version so far. If you need to use Tapo app on computer, consider installing an Android emulator. You may refer to this article. Stream Tapo Camera on PC through Andriod Emulator : LDPlay4 vs Bluestacks

The cloud videos are saved to the cloud, not to the phone memory. It can still be viewed within Tapo app even when the camera is offline (e.g. stolen, network disconnection, power outage), all you need to do is to log in with the TP-Link ID that has Tapo Care subscription, regardless of which mobile device is used.

Note: Cloud videos have a retention period. If you have any important videos, please download them to your local device for backup in a timely manner. Expired videos cannot be viewed or recovered.

To safeguard your personal privacy and information security, it will be helpful to set a password on your phone and enable app locks (if your phone supports it) for important applications as an extra layer of protection.

Additionally, for the Tapo App, make sure to activate two-step verification to enhance the security of your account.

Thanks for the reply - but (sorry to say) it misses my point.

I appreciate videos are kepty in the cloud, not on the phone  -  buty if my phone is stolen or lost, I will not have a mobiole device of any kind to access the cloud via the Tapo app.  My question is whether I could use a PC (running Windows) to access them.  Whilst I can log in to my account via the PC, this only seems to deal with subscriptions, rather than accessing videos.

  @Wayne-TP

Hello,

This isn't a very optimal option. I have setup cameras around our office and shop yard. Being able to access and manage the cloud stored video from my desktop would be the ideal option. Many people still use a pc as their primary computing source.
