Model: Deco X50-5G
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.7

Hi.

I have set up a mesh in my house. It is comprised of a Deco X50-5G (which is the main Deco providing the internet) and two X60 Decos. All three are communicating wirelessly.

Is there any way to get wifi only from the two X60 decos?

I mean, all devices in the house to connect only to either of the X60 Decos and not to the X50-5G. The role of the X50-5G to be just to provide internet to the X60 Decos (wirelessly).

Can this be done wirelessly? I know that for the stationarty devices I can set this up via the Deco app (preferred connection to a certain deco), but what about the moving devices (i.e. my mobile or laptop or tablet) which move around the house.

Many thanks.

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.

Deco X50-5G supports bridge mode but its Wi-Fi can't be disabled.

Here is a workaround for your reference:

1. Please enable "Bridge" on the Deco APP>More>Advanced>Operation Mode.

 - Deco X50-5G would still broadcast a WiFi network but it has no internet and is mainly used to manage the Deco X50-5G over the Deco APP.

2. Connect the Deco X60 via an Ethernet cable to the Deco X50-5G and create another Mesh network: How to Create a New Network in the Deco App

Best regards.

I use the same X50-5G system in bridge mode and several X60 V3.2 behind it and it works well except for a few minor issues in the (beta) firmware. But I hope that will be fixed over time.
I can also give you a tip that you can deactivate the 5Ghz WiFi on the X50-5G if you are running it in bridge mode. 2.4 Ghz (of course with another SSID to the X60 main Network) is enough to configure the system and there will be no interference with other 5Ghz frequencies.
