Up until recently I have been using a pair of AV1300 (TL-PA8010P) powerline adapters to transfer network signal from my 350 mbps Virgin Media router in my lounge approx 20ft away, to my office, for use of a PC, laptop and Playstation. As I wasn't happy with the speeds I was getting on the PC, I purchased a new AV2000 kit (TL-PA9020P) along with upgrading my broadband service to Virgin Media Gig1 (1130 mbps). I use one of the AV2000 powerline adapters next to the router, but have kept the AV1300 adapter in the office as it has 3 ethernet ports as opposed to only 2 on the second AV2000 adapter. I have ran a wifi internet speed test on my phone to check I was actually getting the full speed and it came out at around 700 mbps, however when running the same test application on my PC which is connected to the powerline adapters I am only getting 8 mbps!

This seems ridiculously low. Can anyone recommend a solution?

Hi,

Thanks for posting on TP-Link Community.

Please check powerline rates between the powerline devices via Utility. Here is the difference between powerline rate and actual internet speed.

If you compare the powerline rate and the real speed and still find the speed you get is slow, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Ensure that the powerline adapters are plugged directly into a wall outlet.

2. Test different electrical outlets and move them into the same room for comparison.

3. Check available firmware updates.
