Hi all.

 

I'm not sure if anyone else has encountered this issue when using Ethernet backhaul with EasyMesh. The device connection types and the devices listed under my router node are incorrect. As shown in the picture, it indicates that all devices are connected to the RC3000 slave node. However, this isn't accurate because my RC3000 slave node is located in a private lift, separated by a concrete wall, making it impossible for any devices to connect to it. Despite this, the dashboard shows nearly all devices connected to the RC3000 node via Ethernet, which isn't possible since my RC3000 node only had 4 ethernet port. In conclusion, the device list and connection type displayed for the slave node are not accurate at all.

 

I know it’s not a major issue, but I'm curious to understand what's actually going on and can TPLink do anything to fix this?

 

Here is my network topology diagram for reference. All my slave nodes connect back to the switch via the LAN port, not the WAN port. Previously, when I connected through the WAN port, I encountered issue. The main node router was unable to establish an Ethernet EasyMesh connection and kept switching between wireless and Ethernet.

Hello @Jasson_Hong, thank you for posting in the TP-Link community.

 

I agree that the device connection type display is incorrect on the Tether App. However, I can't confirm if this issue is due to the mix of different brands of EasyMesh devices from various manufacturers.

 

How about the display in the WEB UI of the GE800, does it show the same result as on the Tether App?

 

Could you try removing the H3C RC3000 from the network? Will the client devices display correctly afterward? Please let me know the results.

 

If the issue persists, we would like to escalate the case to our support engineers for further investigation.

Hi @Kevin_Z ,

 

Yes. I had remove it before and it still show the same. Before I replace to GE800, when using AX72 with only EX511 also encounter this issues. And for the tplink web dashboard, it's also had this issues. So idk whether is cause by firmware or other issues.

Are you saying that the client devices still show as connected to the RC3000 even after you've removed it from the EasyMesh network?

 

Or do you mean they show as connected to other EX511s when they are connected to the GE800 or AX72?

 

Are specific client devices displaying incorrectly, or is it random, with different devices connecting to a particular EX511?

If RC3000 remove from mesh, it will distribute to other router. But is still incorrect.

Or do you mean they show as connected to other EX511s when they are connected to the GE800 or AX72?

Because previously i using AX72 as a main node, no GE800, GE800 is just buy from last week and set as a main node last week. But just let u know this issues is happen all the time regardless which router as a main node.

Random. If i reboot, some device may distribute to other router.
