Model: Deco X50 - PoE
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hi,

I have a 4 floor house, and bought 4 Deco X50 PoE units (one for each floor). I set them up in the following way:

ISP modem -> Main Deco -> TP Link TL-SG-116P switch -> 3 satellite Deco units. They are in Router mode.

The satellite units are powered via PoE (cat6 cable directly from the switch), however Ethernet backhaul does not work, and instead they connect wirelessly. I tried plugging one of the Decos with the adapter as well, and the Ethernet backhaul started working for it.

Is this not expected to work (PoE and EB from the same port) or is this an issue with the switch not supporting it?

The cables are all brand new and I have tried switching ports around, but with no success.

Can anyone help here?

I was having the same issue. I believe updating the firmware on the X50s fixed it. Ethernet backhaul and PoE now both work.

  @Goberman

Hi, welcome to the community.

It is suggested to work properly.

Could you please refer to this link to help me submit the Deco APP log:

How to submit Deco APP log

If you try to power up one more satellite Deco X50-POE via the original DC adapter, will it start using Ethernet Backhaul as well?

Wait for your reply and best regards.
