Firmware file to big for upload?
HI,
a client of mine send me his TL-MR6400 V5.30 because it's stuck in a bootloop, after he tried a requested firmware upgrade.
So i downloaded the firmeware TL-MR6400(EU)_V5.30_240716 and tried the tftp Methode to flash the correct fuctional firmware.
But it stops during the upload, after 66009600 bytes with a timeout, strange but ok.
So i tried Openwrt und suprise the download and installation works fine and the router came back to life, but i want for the client the stock firmware, and i tried it again - same error.
After many tries, i used the firmware of TL-MR6400(EU)_V5 and suprise i uploaded it - but didn't work (i know wrong hw version) - then i saw the V5 firmware file is only 53 MB and the the V5.30 is 67 MB - so checked the possible Ram storage and the specs says 65 MB of storage . Big Suprise, why is the firmware bigger then the possible free RAM, or did i use wrong files?
thx
