I have had the system just short of one week now and so far I am not impressed. Yes it's boosted my speeds however it's constantly dropping my WiFi and it's not ideal as I work from home. 
 

My main router is in the living room and my main mesh is connected to this through a new cat 8 Ethernet cable. 
 

my WiFi routers gets 530mbp and is producing 80mbp WiFi - its virgin media. 
 

My other two decos are on the hall landing (about 6 metres through the wall from the main) then one in the upstairs room (room above main deco) and this room is adjacent to where I work. 
 

doing a test I can get about 40-200mbp from my deco system, but it constantly starts and stops and means my work system stops for minutes at a time. 

 

I've done optimisation too.

 

please help-at this rate it's getting returned.

Hi, welcome to the community.

Have you tried to set Deco S4 into Access Point mode to see whether it helps improve the stability?

How to set up Deco to work in Access Point mode

 

For the Virgin Media hub, do you also activate its WiFi network and use the same SSID as Deco?

 

Have you noticed any Deco S4 turn flashing red during the disconnection?

And what are the model numbers of the devices that dropped out a lot?

It is also suggested to refer to Fix unstable connection when connected to the Deco network to disable "Fast Roaming" and "Beamforming" as well as "Mesh Technology" for mobile devices.

Yes I have this set to access point and at present it has not helped.

 

I am not sure what you mean about activating the virgin media hub? Yes it's active, it has a diff name than my deco system? 
 

No the lights stay as normal but my work computer Citrix will freeze and or disconnect. Then when I run a speed test it's super low - but the lights remain as they should be.


I use the Model S4.

 

I have now disabled Beamforming, the rest were already as you suggested. 
 

I also notice when I do a speed test though the toolkit app it says the ping test times out? Not sure if that's relevant.
