Wi-Fi password on Deco app

Why do I need to have uppercase, lowercase, special character and number on my Wi-Fi password via Deco app?
Id like to put any, one that makes sense to
me.
For the ones who cares about so many rules, go ahead, but not force all.

Hi, Thank you very much for your time and patience.
I just got the update from the engineers.
The password requirement on the Deco APP is to meet the Brazil ANATEL Act 2436/2022 with “Minimum Cybersecurity Requirements for Assessing the Conformity of CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) Equipment.”
So TP-Link ID in Brazil will need to adopt this new rule when configuring the wireless password on the Deco APP.
Thanks again and best regards.

Hello @David-TP,
that's correct. It is exactly the same case.
I tried to reinstall the app, but the error persists.
I've sent the log of my app via email.

Thank you very much for the APP logs.
They have been forwarded to the senior engineer for further analysis. I will update the email as soon as there is a quick solution.
Thanks again and best regards.

Hello @David-TP,
This completely clarify the situation. I checked the publication and it's written exactly those requirements.
Thank you so much for your effort!

Sorry, but this argument is so stupid that Anatel reviewed this wording 45o Act of 2025 Jan 2th.
The new wording and understanding is
- "Weak password: password that does not meet AT LEAST ONE OF the following criteria: a) have at least 8 characters; OR b) contain at least one capital letter, one lowercase letter and one number.".
You and your engineers can read this here, on Anatel's official website:
- [Your buggy website doesn't allow you to put the link, search on Google]
But here we are, April 12th and my IoT solutions are not working with your poor code implementation.
Is there a deadline to resolve this major and unfortunate issue or will we continue to be unable to use our own equipment?
Tks :-/

Hi, Thanks for your continuous focus on this issue.
As Portuguese is not my first language, when it was translated into English, it said:
weak password: A password that does not meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Have at least 8 characters
- Contain at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number
I think it means a strong password needs to meet both requirements.
In case there is any misunderstanding and if you have other opinions of the local wireless encrption requirement, it is highly recommended to reach the local Brazil support team here: https://www.tp-link.com/br/support/contact-technical-support/#Hotline-Support
Thank you very much for your understanding and support.
Best regards.
