App information may sometimes fail to update automatically due to network or cache issues. It's better to reload the app regularly to ensure all information is updated.

 

Have you tried to increase the radius? Wider range might be helpful.

yes when opening the app it takes some time to sync/load that actual status.

 

I now changed radius to 200m, that helped

Since 15. Dezember all Automatisation with Geofencing stopped working.

Coming Home / Leaving Home automatisation does not work anymore.

 

I haven't changed anything in the app..

 

 

was there an app update ?

Hi

 

I now found out the problem.

 

My Xiaomi Mi9 phone will kill apps automatically that are running in the background and are not used for some time.

Energy Saving mode for the Tapo app is disabled, so in my opinion this should not happen at all.

 

This means the Tapo get's killed. After that Geofencing does not work anymore, even if I manually open the Tapo app again.

 

The solution is, in the Tapo app I have to set Geofencing again (eventhough it is set already....). --> Tapo App --> Me --> Tapo-Labor --> Geofencing --> Erweiterte Ortung --> press "finish" at the top right. 

--> Like this Geofencing is working again. If done correctly you will see the GPS icon at the top, and also on the lock screen there will be a Tapo Message. (see screenshots attached).

How did you find the app is killed? No more GPS icon on the phone's status bar?

Yes no more icon on the top and no message on lock screen.

 

Usually my lock screen is full of messages from other apps, so I didn't notice in the first place
