Model: Archer AX55 Pro
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.1 Build 20240426 rel.31941(4555)

The router AX55PRO was purchased to connect to the AX55 router, which is set as the Main Router, using EasyMesh (in Access Point mode). The connection is supposed to be wired. Both routers are connected to the ISP router.
According to the information on the TP-Link website, both routers should support EasyMesh.
After setting the AX55PRO router to Access Point Mode, there is no option to manage EasyMesh (this option is not available in the router's UI, but it is available in Router Mode).
If the router is set to Router Mode and the EasyMesh configuration is changed to Satellite, the router restarts and returns to factory settings.
Has anyone encountered a similar problem?
I bought another TP-Link router specifically to use EasyMesh, but it seems like this solution is just a marketing gimmick.

Hi   @Pio7r

Here is the list of router working in AP mode to create Easy mesh network:

Easy Mesh Is Available When Wi-Fi Routers Work in AP Mode as A Controller

For the whole Easy mesh devices list, please see TP-Link Easy Mesh Devices.

Hi,

That is how it should be. Just make sure after doing the above you do not create a new login password to log into the Archer AX55 Pro! Instead go back to the Archer AX55 and add the AX55 Pro as a new EasyMesh Satellite.

@woozle Thank you for the quick response.
However, I would also like to understand why EasyMesh is blocked when the router is set as an Access Point. I am already connected to the ISP Router and would like the AX55 PRO to be in Access Point mode, not Router mode. This is what I expected when choosing this model, as it is marked on the website as supporting EasyMesh.
As you can see in the attached screenshot, there is no EasyMesh option in Access Point mode
I would appreciate it if someone from TP-Link support could explain this issue

 Hi @Pio7r

Currently, not all models support creating an easymesh network in Access point mode. However, if you are worried about the double NAT problem between Archer AX55 pro and main router Archer AX55, you can actually avoid this problem by setting Archer AX55 pro as a satellite router. Because as a satellite router, it also works with the main router in the same network domain.

How to add a satellite router for easymesh network

  Hi @Joseph-TP

Thank you for the explanation. I understand that not all models currently support creating an EasyMesh network in Access Point mode. However, I would like to inquire if there is a known roadmap or planned update for the AX55 Pro to support EasyMesh in Access Point mode in the future.

Additionally, I am wondering if this might be a bit misleading for customers, as the AX55 Pro is listed on the website as supporting EasyMesh, but it seems that it only partially supports the new solution. If possible, could you provide a source or a list of devices that fully support EasyMesh?
