Firmware Version: 1.5.2

Hey all,

I have had a reliable setup of 5 M4R v2 running across the house for years.

Now I got a Deco X50-DSL because I needed a DSL Modem for my new WAN connection.

The offered option of "change main Deco" when adding the device failed around 40% a few times, the recommended solutions in the app didn't change that.

So I decided to set up a new network and reconfigure everything from scratch, including DHCP reservations and port forwarding, which I was not looking forward to. (ew, but what can I do...)

I created a new network using the X50-DSL, reset the M4 units one by one and added them to the new network.

After three M4s were added, the X50 became unresponsive for a while and came back with DHCP configured as they had been in the previous Main M4 Deco. - I guess the migration process kicked back in?

Now things have gone haywire.

Two M4s are flashing red and don't react to pressing reset button. a reboot just shows yellow, then flashing red. keeping the reset button pressed for a minute, or while powering on has no effect.

In the App, suddenly two, sometimes three networks by the same name show up. The main Deco of one of the new instances is an M4 that never was a main Deco in any network.

The Network run by the X50-DSL is unstable and the three M4R units connected to it sometimes show up, sometimes flash red (doing whatever?)

Two units flash red reliably and are unresponsive otherwise.

Any ideas?

Hi, thanks for posting question here.

First, please confirm you can get stable connection from main Deco X50-DSL.

Then, it is suggested to reset and reconfigure all your all your Deco M4 one by one near the main Deco.

If the new network is still unstable, please share your exact network topology here. You may also refer to the troubleshooting guide to confirm.

For the two Deco M4, if no flashing blue on them after normal reset, I am afraid they got defective.
