Model: Deco X50
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: Firmware 1.6.3

Hello Team,

I am experiencing some major network stability issues with my dimmer switches and security camera's on the 2.4g network. It was fine prior to this firmware update. They would show online 1 sec then offline. Everytime I reboot my Deco network, i get different devices reporting offline when they were online prior to the reboot.  When I go into the deco app I can see that they are connected. How can I downgrade the firmware? I do not see the current firmware version listed on the Canadian TP Link website.

Please advise.

TIA!

Confirmed! Re-paired my dimmer switches and cameras all came up. I did the firmware upgrade manually, I should have known better!

Thanks for all the feedback!

Happy New Years Everyone! Let's have a strong 2025!

TLDR: Downgrade to 1.6.1 build 20241010, everything is now working correctly.

Cheers!

  @Wooca

I got same kind of issue after update firmware to 1.6.3 build 24112112 rel 78921 with  my deco X50 . I lost wifi connectivity with my IOT RIng ( webcams, shime) 4 items. If i reboot my X50 , connection is back on Ring component for few minutes, and then  they are lost wifi.

before this firmware was wifi was really stable

Thanks for sharing!

I want to downgrade but will have to verify which version I have since I don't see that firmware on the Canadian TP Link website.

What are your plans?

I spent 4,5 hours troubleshooting the issue on the last day of the year instead of being with my family. Deco X50 EU V1 1.6.3

- major lan issues, cant ping devices - if only one X50 is present ping is working (if another is connected through backhaul, sometime it loops the network or something similar happens)

- iot devices randomly lost connection on 2,4ghz and can not reconnect, unless powered off. After power off it works for a few minutes but later packets starts to get lost or ping time goes up form 2-5ms to 800-1300

- HomeKit is simply not working. Every time I open the home app majority of the devices says updating status, some later come up some are not respoding (meanwhile they are pingable - if i restart them, they start to work for a few minutes)

- Meros garage openeres can't connect to 2,4ghz in 90% and if it is connected, the ping varies and after max half an hour it looses connection

- HomeWizard P1 randomly loses connection

- Kogeek iot devices loses connection every few mins and cant connect back unless power cycle them

After downgraded back to 1.6.1 everything is working again as it worked in the last few years.

I made a mistake that let deco auto install FW and install a firmware which came out on the only working day between holidays and weekends.

Happy New Year! Thank you very much for your feedback.

It has been reported to the senior engineer for further confirmation.

Since 1.6.3 was just released a few weeks ago, the engineer would be glad to provide additional assistance if anyone would like to collaborate with us further.

If other users happen to have a similar issue, please don't hesitate to reach out to us before downgrading back to version 1.6.1.

Thanks again and best regards.

  @Wooca Hi

Are there any tricks to make this downgrade work?  Using the web interface and trying to roll back to v1.6.1 I get the message uploading etc but seems to be stuck on 1.6.3 and will not overwrite.

Any helpful suggestions?

Many thanks   Mark

Hi Mark,

I just downloaded the firmware from the TP Link website. It will download as a zip file, I extracted the file and just open it on the web interface selected the file and clicked "upgrade" Maybe double check you have the right deco version. Are you downgrading from the same spot as my screenshot?
