Powerline setting up password and security
Hello
I have 2 sets of TPlink powerlines - TL-PA4010 KIT and a TL-PA411 KIT.
I live in an apartment with hundreds of other units. How do I configure any of the passwords or network name to secure the network?
I understand that you need to physically pair the devices for it to be connected and that by default, it is encrypted. But as with routers, I am hoping we can have a secure password/network name so that other people cannot try to enter the network.
I also see that the device shows a MAC address and powerline key on the label of the adapter, perhaps those can be whitelisted? But I do not know how to enter into any of the settings.

Yes, the connection is encrypted after you have paired the Powerline adapters and nobody else can add one of their Powerline adapters to your Powerline network unless they can manage to push the physical "Pair" button of one of your Powerline adapters.
There is no additional password or whitelist that could protect you from pairing via a "Pair" button.
As for the encryption. If you'd like to strengthen the encryption further, then you can do so by changing the default network name "HomePlugAV" to something else by clicking the "Secure" button in the tpPLC Utility software.
