AC1200 Dual Band in Access Point Mode with Deco Mesh
Hi
I"ve bought new AC1200 Archer C50 Router (3 in 1) and set this up as an access point, and plugged it into my main router.
I have then set up my Deco mesh units x 2, one that it connected via ethernet cable, to the new Archer C50, and created a new network.
All appears ok, however I was told I could unplug the parent Deco unit from ethernet, and this just isn't possible. It stays off, has a solid red signal. I can see that the Archer unit has its own Wifi network name also, so how this all works as a better option for my wifi is not an easy one for me to get my head around. I read online that it wont act as mesh, so not sure how this helps my Wifi network thats in a different name.
I was hoping this new wifi router set in Access Point mode would free up my parent Deco, effectively allowing me to place this somewhere else in my apartment along with my other Deco device. (thats what the sales guy suggested) It feels like I have the same set up as before, however now I have 2 routers next to each other.
Do I just use this newAC1200 Archer C50 as a router, and simply use my current mesh deco units just like before, in the hope somehow this is better, because the router is new?
Appreucate any help, i'm very confused!
Josh
