Model: Tapo C520WS
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.10 Build 241025 rel.555515n

The camera has been working flawless since it was bought roughly 6 month ago. Yesterday morning it suddenly disconnected from WiFi (slow red blinking) Last known -52dBm according to the access point, which is good.

Power cycled it a couple of times with no result. Decided to factory reset the camera, but it does not broadcast it's own network during setup (red/green blinking). Scanned after a SSID with phone, computer and access point. Factory reset has been done multiple times (10 sec, wait for the voice to confirm).

The camera itself works, because it records to the SD-card and it's possible to get it up and running in wired mode.Wired is sadly not an option in this case.

Is there a known issue with the WiFi board on the rev 1.0 of this camera? Camera has been mounted indoors, so no rough enviroment.

It is a certain hardware failure if the camera won't be reset or its default wifi does not appear after the reset. From this perspective, you can already contact the retailer or local TP-Link support to proceed with the warranty service.

However there is still a way to set up and use the camera since the Tapo C520WS also supports wired connection. During the setup process, choose the wired connection method so that the app can find the camera without connecting to the camera wifi. Once the app finds the device, you can set the desired Wi-Fi network for the camera, and this issue will not affect that step.
