Hi All

I have set up my network using a mesh system with the following devices:

  • Satellite devices: RE550, RE650, and AX73
  • Main router: AXE75

The devices are connected via the mesh satellite system. However, I am unable to find the details of the IoT SSID. My main router has 2(2.4,5GHz) SSIDs configured, including one specifically for IoT devices.

  1. Should the IoT SSID from the main router (AXE75) be visible and accessible through the mesh satellite devices (RE550, RE650, AX73)? Currently only showing the Main SSID
  2. If yes, how can I recheck or troubleshoot to ensure the IoT SSID is being broadcasted correctly across the mesh network?

Any guidance or steps to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Additional Details :

  • Firmware versions of all devices: All Latest

    • RE450 : 1.0.20

    • AXE75 : 1.2.2

    • AX73 : 1.3.6

    • RE650 : 1.0.5

Looking forward to your help!

Hi@mk-,

Currently, the TP-Link EasyMesh only supports extending 2.4G & 5G. And most 6G-Supported WiFi 7 Routers also support extending 6G network. However, MLO/IoT/Guest Wi-Fi can't be extended in an EasyMesh network.

Hi Joseph

Thanks for the update, Technically when in mesh all SSID in main network should be broadcast by the satellite or should providde option to select apart from main network what and all to be broadcasted unfortunately the my IOT from main router are accessible only within the main router range :-(

It is possible because other brands can do this and it's supported by EasyMesh. But TP Link have decided just not to integrate this into their products and thus haven't update firmware to enable this. I've dropped about a grand on TP Link equipment and can't use it properly because they refuse to enable the extension of Guest and IoT networks, contrary to their advertisements. To anyone reading this and considering TP Link for extending Guest and IoT networks, look elsewhere. Not all of their extenders have received a firmware update to enable EasyMesh either and are stuck with OneMesh, just to add insult to injury.
