Deco Mesh Network Problems
Deco Mesh Network Problems

Hey everyone,
Looking for some help with my mesh network. It's the first time I've done any home networking.
I've got 4 Deco X10 set up in AP mode throughout the house. With a TP Link EX220 router into the fibre wall point, in router mode with the WiFi network disabled. My fibre connection is PPoE (not sure if this is relevant).
I get a lot of instability on the network throughout the house, especially on phones, my phone goes to "connected no internet", if I disconnect and reconnect it's fine again for a short period of time before doing it again. Doesn't matter if I'm in the same room and connected to a single deco or moving throughout the house. If I revert back to the router only, within range I get no disconnects and a much more stable connection.
My PC is ethernet cabled into a Deco on the first floor, which seems to be the most stable platform. Unless I get issues between Decos which happens too.
I'm assuming it's a configuration issue as I've just kind of plugged it all in and changed the Decos to AP, and turned off the main router WiFi.
I also tried having just the Deco as router (leaving out the EX220) and then the further Decos connected to that but had similar issues and even more stability / disconnect problems.
Can anyone give me some guidance as to what could be causing issues, what settings I should look at/disable?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

@Benji409 You can use in Router Mode because in AP Mode sometimes Deco and Router do ip conflict which create network problems.

Hi, Thanks for the update.
Does it help if we disable "Mesh Technology" for Pixel 9 on the Deco APP:
It is also suggested to turn off "Fast Roaming" and "Beamforming" under Deco APP>More>Advanced.
Please also disable "Smart DHCP" on the Deco APP
Later, I might need to forward the case to the engineer for further assistance. Please check whether you can receive my email.
Best regards.

Thanks for the reply, I have received your email.
I've disabled Mesh Technology on the Pixel 9. Will report back if I notice any changes.
Fast Roaming, Beamforming and Smart DHCP already were disabled.

@Benji409 I said change the DNS and MTU on your Deco X10 not your router. 🤦🏻 No need to enable IPV6

Hi, Thanks for the reply.
Deco APP doesn't support customizing MTU size for IPV6 connection and if the ISP doesn't support IPV6, there is no need to enable IPV6 on the Deco APP.
If Setting Deco in router mode and messing the DNS/MTU settings don't help improve the network stability, we can just leave it in AP mode to keep the network topology as simple as possible.
It is recommended to wait for the email update and check what the engineer might think of the possible root cause.
Best regards.
