The general Tapo information refers to a wired supply of 8 to 24vac 10VA being required to power this doorbell however the Tapo D235 data sheet states a 10 to 24vdc supply can also be used without polarity issues. Has anyone used a 12v DC supply successfully?

Take Tapo D235 (UK/EU) V1 for example, its power requirements are as follows.

Tapo D235 (UK/EU) V1
Recommended AC power Output Rating: 8-24V AC, 10-40VA, 50/60Hz
Recommended DC Power Adapter

Output Voltage Range: 9V to 24V DC

Output Power: ≥ 10W

Wiring Requirements: 2-pin connection, no polarity distinction required
