Hello all,

 

Good day!

 

I would like to get some idea on the network method that I should get for my home. Its basically a duplex house with 5 bedrooms, each floor of 1700 sqft. Currently the network provider's modem is at GF which covers partial area and I use a RE200 to get network on the remaining area. Since it is a duplex multiple walls are as blockages for the network to reach few corners

 

At first floor I have a ArcherC20 in AP mode and another RE200 to cover up the entier first floor. So inorder to have a meshed network i should either go for a deco or wifi routers with mesh feature.

 

I have come across few products under my budget - DECO X20,  Archer AX53(mesh feature available in AP mode) & Archer AX73 but i am not not able to plan my connections based on its performance. 

 

Which of the above can give good network crossing 2 walls and reach 10-12ft distance ? Which has a strong network providing ability ?

All of the mentioned would do the job - the difference is that with Archers you build an Easymesh network, while X20 builds a Deco mesh - details.

All these support an ethernet backhaul if you want to connect them by an ethernet cable for best performance.

If you are on a budget you can get two AX53 as a start and scale up if necessary.

Another approach would be a Deco X20 - 4-6 Bedroom Houses (3-pack) - details.

Whichever model you choose you can always scale up if necessary.

Here's a guide on how to place your router for optimal reception and performance.

"EasyMesh, OneMesh, and Deco Mesh are different technologies.  EasyMesh and OneMesh are available on select Archer-series routers, Range Extenders, and Powerline Adapters.  Deco Mesh is only available on Deco-series products.  OneMesh and EasyMesh may support cross-compatibility with each other. However, Deco will only work on Deco." - Easymesh FAQ - Q2.

Hence, RE200 could work with any Deco but not in mesh.

A last question I will connect AX53 as access point with main router at first floor. 1 RE200 will be connected to this AX53 wirelessly at first floor within mesh network and can I connect another RE200 to the same mesh if it is wirelessly connected to the main router for internet which is Ground floor? Thanks

Your two RE200s could be part of an Easymesh only if they are connected to the AX53 (it's latest FW allows Easymesh in AP mode).

If one of them is connected to the ISP router on the ground floor it will work, but not as part of the Easymesh.
