@ARGamingPK1 Thanks
Went smoothly upgrading one at a time. I notice the IoT feature is there - any idea how this works? Does it create a separate segment (SSID and VLAN) but how do I use this if my device is in access point mode only.
Also can I use the preference to auto link my 2 decos using ethernet backhaul as it took over 5 minutes for it to auto establish - I cant see this option?

@Bugs22 IoT Network can create separate SSID on both bands 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz and also you can choose which band you want to use you can disable any one of them and Connection Preference is a feature which help us to change the prefered deco for connected clients and also you can choose prefered deco to deco but this can work on wireless backhaul.

@ARGamingPK1 IoT looks useful. Unfortunately connection preference not there for my 2 devices with ethernet backhaul, maybe not for access point mode or a M4V2 limitation?

@Bugs22 You can use this option to connect from one deco to other deco but can work on wireless backhaul. Like Main Deco to Satellite Deco 1 and from Satellite Deco 1 to Satellite Deco 2

@ryg Deco models from official distributors & ISP have different hardware IDs, and also different firmware versions (in most cases)
Most likely, that "2nd hand dealer" bought that M4 from someone who bought it from an ISP.
Unless you can find out from that dealer who he got it from, then find out the ISP name from that person, I'm afraid you're stuck at 1.6.5 firmware.
You can also try contacting the local tp-link support for any workaround.
Don't buy routers from 2nd hand dealers; buy from official sources with warranty & support

@ImtiazAli Thanks for your advise...
I have this unit almost 1,5 year ago and overall working perfectly fine except the 5ghz band that broken since i bought it (M4 only).
The complain is only connection between deco before the 1.7.0 firmware came out (sometime the deco connected to the farthest deco so the wifi is terible)
I have 4 decos... 3 E4v1, 1 M4v2 all i got from 2nd hand dealer not the same seller though.....but i guess im not lucky with the M4, with the E4 is no problem at all....

@David-TP
I was on version 1.7.0. beta (build 20240307). I've downgraded to 1.6.5 through recovery, and searched for updates. I'm from the EU, no updates could be found via the app.
Is it possible/wise to flash the final 1.7.0 UK or AU version on my M4v2? Or will I have too wait till it shows up in the app, basec on my MAC address?
