Model: Archer NX200
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Recently installed ARCHER NX200, which wasn't displayed on the puck list to post this message!!!

I'm having issues where some smart phones, tablets and laptops will happily connect to the WiFi with no issues and some will only report as "Connected with no Internet". Does anybody know what is going on, I've never experienced such inconsistency over such a short distance from the router.

Re:Archer NX200 Wifi Issues IPv4 not working?-Solution

Hi, may I know your SIM carrier?

If your Archer NX200 is V2, please install the beta firmware here:

Archer NX200_V2_20250430 Supported xLAT

If it is V1, you can try to manually create an APN profile and set the PDP type to "IPV4 only",such as Archer NX200 Can't Access Certain Websites or Only Receives an IPV6 Address

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

I have similar issues - some devices cannot connect to router after a while - very annoying. Workaround is to restart the router. Have to do it couple times per week.

Hi, welcome to our community.

1. Can you share the models of devices connected to the router(but no internet)? Are they connected to 2.4GHz or 5GHz band of your router?

2. Please take the sim card out of the router, put it in your phone, enable Hotspot on your phone, connected those devices to the hospot to confirm whether the internet works or not.

3. If you have another sim card, please test it in the router as well.

4. It is suggested to change DNS on the router for a try referring to the guide.

5. And what is the hardware and firmware of your Archer NX200?

6. Who is the ISP of your sim card(s)?

Thank you and best regards.

Thank you for your reply.

Firmware Version:1.4.0 3.0.0 v60a2.0 Build 240814 Rel.58842n Hardware Version:Archer NX200 v1.0 00000000

My ISP is Telenor in Stockholm, Sweden.

It is not a problem with a sim-card as I had it in another 4G router before and all worked fine.

I think I saw most problems with Playstation 5 and my mobile Samsung S23. I would say on 5GHz, but I had Band Steering enabled, so it might be switching.

To mitigate I did 3 things:

1. Added dns servers like you suggested.

2. Turned off Band Steering (Smart Connect) and have now 2 separate SSIDs because I got tired of my mobile moving to slower 2.4 band in another room of my apartment. I don't think signal gets so bad that the change is needed. Anyway I want max speed for my devices - so now they have no choice but to stay on 5 band :)

3. Changed address lease time in DHCP settings from 2 hours (default) to 12 hours.

I'll see how it goes and let you know. But I am frankly not that happy with the product. I expected it to function better out of the box given a lot of good reviews online.

  @Marvin_S

For some time I had the setup that I described. It was not better unfortunately: still from time to time clients lose connectivity or speed goes down. Reboot usually solved issues. And after reboots initially all works well - good wifi speed, clients connect ok, etc.

At some point I did reset of the router (holding reset on the back) after it again got into issues (a tv show on my tv started lagging severely. I checked 5g on my phone - it in contrast had 300 mbit connection).

So after reset router returned to band steering, 2 hours dhcp, but I added google's dns. I added in the scheduler that router reboots every night.

I thought maybe regular rebooting could solve the problems, but no. Still it happens that devices cannot connect to wifi network, like yesterday, my PS5 could not connect to the router after being in rest mode. I had to restart the router in order for ps5 to connect.

In general I have to say that I am quite unhappy with this router. I had a 4G router of another make previously - I don't think I ever had any problems, need to restart, etc. I am considering returning the tp-link router and getting my money back.

No, not yet. I am in contact with a tp-link system engineer through email. Sent my logs and status page. We'll see what they come up with.

  @Jjee

I got the following instructions:

For the problem you encountered, we hope that you can go to Advanced--> Status in the Web UI of NX200 when it is working properly and record the band you are currently connected to. Then go to Advanced--> Network--> Mobile WAN to fix your NX200 to the band you are currently connected to. Then check if you encounter the same problem. If so, please send us a screenshot of the NX200 LED status and Advanced--> Status page when the problem occurs.

And further (after I sent logs, led status and status page):

Thank you for the screenshots you provided. From your screenshots and the LED status images, we noticed that the link quality between your NX200 and ISP is very good at this time, and there is no problem with the IP address obtained. The problem may occur on your WLAN side. We recommend that you try the following:

1. Go to the NX200 Web UI--> Advanced--> Wireless and turn off Band Steering to modify a new SSID for your 5GHz Wi-Fi. And connect your PS5 client to the 5G Wi-Fi. (If you have already done this step, please ignore it)

2. Please check if there are other DHCP servers in your network, such as NAS. If so, please turn off their DHCP function.

3. Please try to connect your client to the NX200 via a wired connection when the problem occurs and check whether you encounter the same problem.

I have google dns, set fixed bands for both 5G and 4G mobile internet, turned off band steering and set up 2 separate networks, have 4 hour dhcp lease and still reboot every night. I'll see how it goes.

Re:Archer NX200 Wifi Issues IPv4 not working?

  @Steve7373

Hi folks, I seem to have this issue, but turning off band-steering and firewalls are no help.

Seems to have something to do with IPv4/IPv6?

I am unable to ping any IPv4 addresses, but IPv6 works fine.

crosh> ping 1.1.1.1
PING 1.1.1.1 (1.1.1.1) 56(84) bytes of data.
From 192.168.1.1 icmp_seq=1 Destination Net Unreachable

And network status fof IPv4 is all zeros:

IPv4 | IPv6
WAN Interface Name:  MBB
IP Address:  0.0.0.0
Subnet Mask: 0.0.0.0
Default Gateway: 0.0.0.0
Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0
Secondary DNS:  0.0.0.0
Up Time:  0 days 00:00:00

Therefore also unable to use external DNS (like Google or Cloudflare) because they all seem to use IPv4 (1.1.1.1; 8.8.8.8, etc.)

Oddly, ancient Android phone (android v5) had no problems, while modern phones & computers struggle.

Thanks!

Bill
