Hi,

I purchased the Archer AX58 because the manual included instructions for setting up a WireGuard VPN client, so I assumed it was supported. However, I can't find the VPN client menu anywhere in the settings.

Does the AX58 not support VPN client functionality?

If not, is there any chance it will be added in a future firmware update?

Hi,

 

If your Archer AX58 V1 came with a firmware version that does not support VPN Client, then you need to manually update it with the one found in the following thread.

@woozle : I have the same problem as @Soup86.
Can you confirm that AX53 FW can be used for AX58(V1) as well?

In such case, is it safe to upgrade to the latest official AX53 FW release ( AX53(EU)_V1_1.4.4 Build 20250603 )

Hi,

 

We know that up until version 1.4.3 the firmware for the Archer AX53 V1 and Archer AX58 V1 were identical.

 

I don't know what TP-Link is planning for the AX58 V1, but I personally see no reason why TP-Link would suddenly start making different firmware for it.
