Firmware Version:

Hey guys, just had a question. I've been looking at the guides for ethernet backhaul for this Deco device, and each one seems to always have a switch used inbetween the Decos.

My setup is such that I have my modem in my basement, and then an ethernet cable that goes up to my second floor. I wanted to have it set up so that I have a deco in the basement connected to my modem directly, and then also a deco on my second floor that connects to my modem directly through the ethernet wire that goes up to a port there.

Is that not possible? Do I need to instead connect only one deco to my modem, and then the upstairs deco to my basement one? Or do I need to get a switch too?

Thanks, any and all help is appreciated. And yeah my plan is to put the third deco on the main floor as I don't have an accessible ethernet wired there.

Hi, can I have the model number of your ISP modem?

If there is more than one Ethernet port on the modem, it might be a modem-router combo. You can have two Deco units directly to the modem-router combo, but Deco needs to be set into Access Point mode:

Best regards.
