Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

I just have ONE Deco M5 and I want to use it as a wifi repeater. I do not want to connect it via cable to anything else. I want to use it to expand my network coverage. I don't mind having a second wifi. I have configured Deco as Access Point, but I don't see any place to add the original wifi settings that it is supposed to connect to. It works fine if it is connected via cable to my router. How do I configure Deco M5 to work as a network repeater when I have just one M5 and cannot connect it via cable to main router ?

thanks

When you have single Deco unit it is called Main Deco in TP-Link terminology. Main Deco must have wired (Ethernet) connection to modem/router.

What you want is not possible to achieve with Deco M5.

Hi, I think the EasyMesh range extender would be a better choice than Deco when working as a wireless repeater for Archer AX55, such as RE815X/705X/700X:

Best regards.

Is it possible to use another AX55 as an EasyMesh node? That could be wireless per my understanding.
