Model: Deco BE25   Deco M4
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: BE25: 1.0.17 / M4: 1.6.5

I've had this issue for a long time already. The Deco-app works fine, but when I try to manage something on my computer via the browser (Chrome), the web UI keeps kicking me out no matter what I do. This started already when I had only 4x M4, and then the website was also super duper slow, now I added one BE25 to the setup and now it's a lot faster, but still keeps returning to the login before I get anywhere in it.

I'm assuming there's some broken cache file / cookie somewhere that gets loaded since it works fine in Incognito mode (not anymore, now it's doing the same thing in incognito mode as well), but I haven't figured out what it is since the site doesn't print any logs or anything else to latch onto. So anyone got any idea about what to clear to get it to work normally? I already cleared all the site data, but that didn't help.

The thing is, I want to update the old M4's to 1.7, but the app doesn't offer the update (yet?) and I'm a bit afraid to try to do it on the website, in case it suddenly logs out in the middle of updating and bricks the whole thing.

No difference connecting directly to the BE25, I'm afraid. But... I took the risk and updated my M4's to 1.7 using the local upgrade method and somehow didn't get thrown out during the update process. I assume it would've just proceeded in the background anyway, as the only part it needs the connection for is uploading the file... And now after the update the web UI seems to stay logged in!

  @McFox

Hi, thanks for the feedback.

Would it be possible to record a video clip that "the web UI keeps kicking me out no matter what I do"?

We should verify if the current timeout interval for the web UI login is within the normal range compared to its usual timeout duration.

By the way, if a laptop is connected to the main Deco BE25, would the web UI still keep logging out?

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

  @David-TP

Here's the video: Youtube video

I blurred the status page so my public IP etc won't be visible.

Sometimes when I log in, it already kicks me out before I even get to the advanced settings.

Good idea about trying it while connected to the BE25, I'll give that a shot. My work laptop always connects to the M4 in the basement, and I didn't try it elsewhere yet.

Thank you very much for the excellent news!yes

I can't explain what happenedblush. It seems the 1.7.0 somehow has fixed it, and I'll monitor whether there will be similar feedback later.

Best regards and wish you a good day!

Maybe there was some cache or other corrupted data in the M4's themselves (or even just one of them) that got cleared during the update. It wouldn't surprise me, because those Decos have been pretty wonky in general lately. The connections themselves have worked fine, but every time I've tried to change some settings, it just didn't work or was at least super slow. Before updating manually I also got errors trying to check for updates, and it suggested rebooting. But then the reboot also errored :D Then I pulled the plug on them one by one, after which the update check worked (but didn't find anything). Thankfully adding the BE25 to my network made everything a lot more manageable, it responds like 100 times faster than the M4's ever did.
