Report and Suggest

Hi, how are you, I am Sayem Ahmed, a young Deco X50.130 user from Bangladesh, I am reporting something that you should bring an update that will help our users in our country to use it in a very pleasant way, as our country is very densely populated which creates a lot of obstacles or annoys us in using the internet due to the channel issue alone, so I want to give you a suggestion that is to bring an update to Deco X50v1.30 which will facilitate us in channel selection or we can do manual channel selection. I hope you will think about the above-written issues and work through the review which is another scenario of providing you with better quality services, I hope to update as soon as possible, other than TP Link, many other new companies have already provided manual channel selection in their Deco Series routers like Cudy, Asus, which has become a shameful scenario for you.

Hi, Nice to see you again.
At the very beginning, there was a negative attitude towards the idea of customizing wireless channels. With more and more feedback, the engineers have already recognized the necessity of wireless channel selection and incorporated this feature into the Deco WiFi 7 models. A similar feature is also planned for other models, but there hasn't been any timeline for specific models.
Back to the reported issue with your Deco X50_V1.3, as only band 4(149/153/157/161/165) is allowed in Bangladesh, the available options for 5 GHz are limited, even if users can manually choose wireless channels. Additionally, based on previous user feedback, it has been observed that the 2.4GHz channels tend to have a greater impact.
If the current 5GHz band has no performance issue, while the 2.4GHz connectivity is rather unstable, there are some beta firmware versions that allow Deco units in the same Mesh network to use non-overlapping 2.4GHz channels for mobile clients. If you're interested, you can send an email to support.forum@tp-link.com.
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

Recently, Bangladesh's telecommunications regulator, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), has issued a circular stating that, "The proposal to include the 5925-6425 MHz spectrum of the 6 GHz band in the National Wave Allocation Policy for use on a shared basis in Wi-Fi, IoT, wireless LAN, and cellular mobile networks has been approved by the commission." The circular also states that, "In order to provide services on a commercial basis in the said band, prior approval of the commission must be obtained before wave allocation, import and use of radio equipment." That is, in addition to the existing unlicensed bands of 2.4 and 5 GHz, from now on, other services including WiFi, IoT, wireless LAN, and cellular mobile networks can be used on a shared basis through the 6 GHz band as an unlicensed band. However, to provide services commercially, prior approval must be obtained by following the existing rules of BTRC. It should be noted that the use of waves on a shared basis means that any citizen of Bangladesh can use the waves mentioned in the land borders of Bangladesh free of charge, but if there is any interference in the use of waves, he will not be able to seek any remedy from BTRC.
In the current modern world, this band is being used for various important technologies, which are making our daily lives easier and more efficient. In this blog, we will discuss in detail the importance of this wave band, its versatile uses and its possible future.
With the rapid development of telecommunications and wireless technology, the need for specific frequency bands is also increasing day by day. In particular, the mid-band spectrum or wave. 1-6 GHz wave is called mid-band wave. The 3.5 GHz band wave is highly valued for 5G worldwide for coverage and capacity. In addition, one of the most important wave bands as an unlicensed wave is the 5925-6425 MHz wave.
The 5925-6425 MHz wave is called the 6 GHz band wave. This wave band is basically divided into two parts:
5925-6425 MHz in the lower part.
6425-7125 MHz in the upper part.
Through this, true WiFi 6E and WiFi 7 facilities will be available from now on and router companies will be able to market tri-band or quad-band 6 GHz supported routers. And those who have existing 6 GHz supported routers will have the 6 GHz band unlocked in their routers.
That is, from now on we will be able to use the WiFi 6 GHz band.
I have enabled 160 MHz on my Deco X50, but I don't know why many devices don't support it, so I left it at 80 MHz, which was auto-recommended by my router.

Hi, thank you very much for your time and patience.
It is not just Bangladesh; India is also going to delicense 500 MHz of spectrum in the 6 GHz band (5925–6425 MHz). But I'm not sure how it is related, as Deco X50 doesn't support 6 GHz.
I'm pretty sure the engineers have been aware of the importance of allowing customization of the channel/channel width. They would need more time to roll out this feature to multiple Deco models. Unfortunately, I can't give you any reply on when this feature will be finally introduced to Deco X50_v1.3.
The 160MHz bandwidth over 5GHz requires DFS channels (band 2 and band 3). Moreover, not only do WiFi routers typically avoid DFS channels, but most mobile clients also lack support for them. Band 1 and Band 4 are more commonly used compared with Band 2&3.
Best regards.

@David-TP Yes, I have to explain to you that 6ghz has now been opened in Bangladesh.

@David-TP My main point is that just as you are bringing channel selection to the BE Series, you are also bringing it to the Deco X series. The most notable of these is the Deco X50v1.30 version. I hope that you will bring this issue of channel selection in the next update. Since the X50v1.30 update has been coming for more than 6 months, please talk to the developers and clarify this issue with the new update.
