Thanks David,
I live in a rural area and I don't have fibre yet and so far I've had no indication of when it might be installed. I only know that it should be sometime before 2026.
My existing provider speed is 25-40mbs with constant drop outs and lags throughout the house. Speed on x50 5g is steady 100+Mbs, but reduces to a largely unusable15Mbs in one room.
For that reason I want to extend the 5g signal using mesh.
Occasionally I want to use the 5g router in my motorhome when on holiday and would replace this when away with the 4g router I already have to ensure home network still functions. ( For cameras, IoT devices etc)
I think the promised future fibre speed is still to be less than the existing x50 5g speed. However when it becomes available and if the

Hi, welcome to the community.
If a fiber connection came at last, why do you want to use a DSL gateway instead of a regular router with an RJ45 port?
Deco X50-DSL could be set as a satellite Mesh unit with Deco X50-5G, but other Deco models work as well, such as Deco X50(non-DSL version):
Can different Deco models work together?
Wait for your reply.
Best regards.
speed improves I might want to move to fibre and am thinking of getting the DSL router so that I can use this if it's advantageous.
I'm not sure if this is the right approach to take but wanted to know if it was possible to do before purchasing the DSL router.
