Setting up a new mesh

Hello all, I have a Nx511 as my main router for my 5g subscription. I've been trying to set up a new mesh system with some Deco M9 plus units. I've tried the app, but the Decos don't get recognized by the NX unit even if it is connected by ethernet. Are there compatibility issues between these units?

Hi, Deco M9 plus can't be wirelessly connected to the NX511, and the Deco APP is only for the Deco series.
Compared with NX511, I think Deco X50-5G would be a better choice.

Or if you prefer NX511, you can add several HX series Mesh nodes to extend the network, such as HX510:

Thank you very much.
Best regards.

Thank you for your response. As I already have the NX511, I am hoping to establish a mesh with it. Are you saying that the only TP-Link products which will mesh with it are the HX series?

Hi, thanks for the update.
Theoretically, the Home EasyMesh wireless range extenders are also compatible. While NX511 is mainly for Service Providers and managed via the Agnet App, the HX series Mesh nodes are more recommended for maintaining UI consistency and functional integrity.
Best regards.

Ok, so I have two xe75 pro units and a x50 outdoor unit. The two xe75 units will be connected by ethernet and I assume that they will be able to do ethernet backhaul, please advise if this is not the case. The x50 unit I understand will be slower, but it needs to be connected by wifi. Can these units function together and should I setup the x50 unit as an AP?
Thanks again for your help.

Yes, the two Deco XE75 Pro units will use Ethernet Backhaul for Mesh Connection.

Deco X50 will work with Deco XE75 Pro.
Can different Deco models work together?
Thanks again for your help.
