Firmware Version: 1.2.1 build 20240716

Sorry if this is a bit rambling but want to include as much info as I can.....

I have a mixture of TP link powerline plugs a 2 x 2000mb 1 x 1300mb & 1 x 1500mb & I have recently added 3 x P9's to boost my wifi  which I thought were working fine, however I have recently noticed that my powerline network is not performing as it was neither are the P9's

I finally got FTTP this month and have been struggling with the speeds I'm getting around the house, plugged direct into the router (Draytek 2762 with wifi diabled ) 850mb / 200mb, on the wifi next to the P9 plugged into the router 450/120,  on the wifi next to the p9 at the top of the stairs (say 5 meters across plus up a set of stairs and then another few meters across) only 150 / 80 (having disconnected the wifi and reconnected to ensure I'm connected to that unit) but then on a machine thats connected to the homeplug network only 60/65

I've checked all my cables and they are all cat 5e / cat 6 cables

multiple restarts of all devices / routers

Deco network set as AP mode, Fast Roam & Beamform switched off

devices are connected to the 5ghz ssid not the 2.4 (still need that because of lights / switches)

powerlines are used mainly for Tv's / PS4 but do have one connected to an 8port gb hub with 3 / 4 devices plugged into the switch (where I'm getting 60/65)

am I better off ditching the powerlines completely and using the gb ports on the P9's and letting their powerline function serve as the powerline network, or am I missing a tick somewhere here

don't think its a house wiring issue, as the house is less than 10 years old and we have only had 1 socket moved around in that time.

any advice / abuse would be appreciated.

  @Atoonfan

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

Can I have the model numbers of these adapters "2 x 2000mb, 1 x 1300mb & 1 x 1500mb", such as TL-PA9020/8020?

Are they wired adapters only, without WiFi features?

As they share the same powerline wiring system, they might interfere with each other. It's worth a try to temporarily unplug the powerline adapters and leave the P9 units only to see whether the speed gets better.

Best regards.

  @David-TP

Plugs - (actually better than I thought)

TL-PA9020 V1 x 1 av2000
TL-PA9020P V1 x 2 av2000
TL-PA8010P V2 x1 Av1300

hopefully I'll get a chance to have a go at unplugging everything today and see if the gb ports on the deco's do any better

open to any suggestion - would there be a router I could get to replace the draytek that would integrate as part of the deco mesh so I can move that unit to replace a homeplug?

I know from what I have read it says you can use the P9 as a router but I cant see any info on how good it is with fttp  / dhcp and port forwarding etc, I assume all these things disappear from the web interface once you switch them to AP mode?

Thanks

Hi,

Deco P9 doesn't support EasyMesh, so another Deco would be the only option to be integrated into Deco Mesh.

There are two powerline models, Deco P9 and Deco PX50. However, P9 is HomePlug AV while Deco PX50 is G.hn Powerline protocol.

So, if we want to add one more Deco that could establish powerline backhaul with P9, the same model/Deco P9 is the only option.

DHCP/Port Forwarding are basic features for a WiFi router, and Deco P9 would be fine with them. And you are right, when P9 is in AP mode, it no longer supports Port Forwarding, and the DHCP server feature is also disabled.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.
