Model: TL-WPA8635P KIT
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Bought the kit yesterday but I'm not able to get it working. I followed the guideline to pair with an extender and copy wifi settings from the router. The leds on the adapter light up but after 2 minutes or so the leds are off. Happens over again every time I unplug and then plug it back in. In the app the extender appears until the leds of the adapter go off. Seems like it shut down.

What I tried so far:

- changed the ethernet cable connected to the router

- used different sockets for the adapter, close to the router and further away

- reset adapter and extender

- reset the router

- disabled dhcp server

I don't know what I can do now so help is appreciated. Should be plug and play, no?

Hi,

What you could try is to switch off the Power Saving Mode via the tpPLC Utility software from TP-Link and then see if that solve the issue. Although, Power Saving Mode should only kick in after 5 minutes, not 2.

Normally the Powerline adapter should not go into Power Saving Mode while there is an active connection to the router, but maybe the router has some sort of power saving feature of its own that makes the Powerline adapter think there is no connection anymore?

  @woozle

thanks for the tips. I checked the router config but no power saving there. I installed the utility tool and disabled power saving for the adapter. It stayed online longer now for about 10 minutes but now it turned off again...

Anything else I can try?

  Update: I monitored the adapter today using the utility tool and I saw the adapter coming online a couple of times from one minute to 20 minutes at one point
