Model: Deco X50 - PoE
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.4.9

Hi,

i have 4 Deco:

  • 3 Deco X50 - PoE version 1.4.9
  • 1 Deco X50-Outdoor version 1.2.8

in this configuration:

internet

    --> ISP router

        --> main Deco "1" in mode "Access Point" Piano primo, Ethernet Backhaul

            --> switch "TP-Link Mercury MS108GP PoE"

                --> satellite Deco "2" outdoor Esterno

                --> satellite Deco "3" Piano -1

                --> switch "TP-Link Mercury MS105GP PoE"

                    --> satellite Deco "4" Piano terra

all connections are with cable "cat 6", instead of having the whole connection in Ethernet Backhaul, I see it as per the image below where "Piano -1" and "Piano terra" are in Wi-fi Backhaul, instead of using Ethernet Backhaul:

Questions:

  • Is there something wrong with the setup?
  • How can I solve it?
  • Is it necessary for me to remove all satellites and set them up again?
  • Can it be useful to switch to "Router mode"?

Many thanks.

Marco

Hi David,

sorry for delay, but before writing to you I tried to apply different solutions (with your expert support team) and this is the result.

My test:

  • tried to connect the Piano -1/Piano terra to different Ethernet ports on the switch-MS108GP --> always the same problem
  • set Deco "3" Piano -1 port at the same Ethernet port of MS108GP that used to belong Deco X50-outdoor --> always the same problem
  • disconnect Deco Ethernet cable of "Piano -1" leaving only the Deco Ethernet cable of " Piano terra" attached (beyond "Esterno) --> always the same problem
  • remove all satellite Deco and reinstall in mode "Access Point" --> always the same problem

So i have chang mode from "Access Point" to "Router":
  • remove all satellite Deco and reinstall near only with power (no ethernet cable)
  • move in single floor and attach ethernet cable --> it's function

So i leave "Router" mode and all satellite Deco are with ethernet cable, i don't know why, but now it's all right.
Many thanks for your help and have a good day!
Marco

  @marcoin

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

There isn't anything wrong with the setup. The Ethernet Backhaul should work over each satellite Deco X50-PoE unit.

Have you tried to connect the Piano -1/Piano terra to different Ethernet ports on the switch-MS108GP?

If Deco "3" Piano -1 used the same Ethernet port of MS108GP (that used to belong Deco X50-outdoor), would it start showing Ethernet Backhaul on the Deco APP?

Later, I'd like to follow up on your case via email and ask the senior engineer for further assistance.

Please check whether you can receive my email later.

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.
