I am already using OneMesh with the following setup.

 

AX20 <<WLAN>> RE605X #1  <<WLAN>> RE605X #2 

 

The subscribed FTTH package is 300 Mbps and I get 150 Mbps when I connect with RE605X #2 through WLAN in the same room. I want to improve the throughput and stability by using the PGW2440 kit so the basic connectivity will be as below.

 

AX20 <<LAN>> PG2400P <<POWER-LINE>> PGW2440 <<LAN>> RE605X #2 

 

Is the above physical topology possible?

 

Next, I want to ensure that RE605X #2 existing OneMesh with RE605X #1 is removed and RE605X #2 gets into OneMesh with AX20 over the power line. The RE605X #1 can stay on OneMesh with AX20 over existing WLAN backhaul. 

 

Is the above OneMesh topology possible? (URL below)

Welcome to our community.

 

Please note that OneMesh is implemented through Wireless Backhaul. If RE605X #2 is connected via LAN in the topology you want to implement, you can only use Access Point mode. RE605X #2 will not be able to participate in the establishment of a OneMesh network.

As far as I know is the answer to Q5 of this FAQ still true. https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/2690/

 

So, the answer to your question is no.

The link you gave to the FAQ page is solid. The answer to Q5 is also saying OneMesh doesn't work on LAN backhaul.

 

However, the above specs page of PGW2440 mentiones:

 

Onemesh management
Onemesh Configuration (Synchronization & Communication)
• Port: 20001   Protocol: TCP
• Port: 20002   Protocol: UDP

 

How is OneMesh working for the extender unit? *Confused*

I am not sure how the OneMesh works on Powerline adapters. Apparently TP-Link doesn't consider the connection of the Powerline devices as Ethernet backhaul, but rather as Powerline backhaul?

Whatever it is, OneMesh not supporting Ethernet backhaul is not because it's impossible to implement it, but because TP-Link decided so. (most other Mesh variants on the market do actually support it)

 

Anyway, the RE605X doesn't support Ethernet backhaul for sure.

Yeah OneMesh as a whole isn't going to work through LAN backhaul it seems.
