Hi,

I uninstalled the driver and prevented Windows from installing anything (otherwise it automatically installed a 2011 Microsoft driver). I also deleted the last network .inf file in Safe Mode. I installed the driver you recommended (RTWlanUSB_WindowsDriver/netrtwlanu.inf), but it did not recognize the adapter. Then, I reinstalled the official TP-Link Archer T3U Plus driver, which is still from 2019 and likely outdated, causing it to not work properly on Windows 11.

Are TP-Link working on releasing a newer, fully functional driver for Windows 11, or do I need to purchase a new adapter from a manufacturer that properly updates their software?

As I indicated, that is the driver TP-Link recommends. I myself usually use drivers provided by third-party websites, because they are often much newer.

I have an Archer T4U Plus that runs nicely with the driver version 1030.52.325.2025 available for download via the link below: (just ignore that is says "OLD")

Thank you for your helpful intention, but unfortunately, although it works, the bandwidth is still reduced.

Under Windows 10, it was 480 Mbps, but now under Windows 11, the counter doesn't go above 270 Mbps.

I note that this issue also occurred under Windows 10 after a system update, but reinstalling the official driver resolved the problem.

In case you don't want to give up with the T3U Plus yet, then you could try other driver versions as well. The website I linked to previously also has a whole collection of other versions.

And if you decide to look for a replacement, then be careful what you choose. Almost all "AC1200", "AC1300" and "AC1900" USB Wi-Fi dongles you can buy nowadays are based on chips made by Realtek and use the same drivers and hence will also behave like the T3U Plus. (if you scroll through the file "netrtwlanu.inf" that is part of the driver, then you can see all the supported VID/PIDs)
 

There are quite a few posts in this forum regarding the issue you are facing. Basically this is due to the dongle being stuck in USB 2 mode, even if plugged into a USB 3 port. You can verify whether this is the case by using software like "SIV System Information Viewer" or "USB Device Tree Viewer".
