Which routers have EasyMesh?
Which routers have EasyMesh?

I'm trying to find out exactly which TPL routers have EasyMesh.
My AX12 manual implies it has it with instructions on how to activate it. However that is incorrect and I see it is a generic manual for AX100 routers.
The website seems to give a set of routers that have EasyMesh however I don't trust it, because some clearly do not have it. Also quite a few are not available to buy.
What I want is a 1500 or 1800 router which you can easily buy and has EasyMesh.
Any recommendations please..?

This is all the Advanced tab shows.
I have tried it with 2 different browsers.So I seem to be missing a whole lot of options...!
Hi,
The screenshot you posted shows how the Advanced menu looks like on TP-Link routers when "Operation Mode" has been set to "Access Point Mode".
Note that currently only the router models listed here https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/697572 support EasyMesh in Access Point Mode.
So, on the Archer AX12 the "EasyMesh" menu will only show if it is operating in "Wireless Router Mode".

Hello @SteMcc ,
As Woozle noted, you're using Access Point mode. Currently, not all EasyMesh-enabled routers support EasyMesh in Access Point mode.
Even if you enable EasyMesh in wireless router mode and then switch to Access Point mode, the EasyMesh feature will be disabled.
Intuitively, you can compare the interface of wireless router mode and access point mode.

AX12 is an AX1500 rated wireless router which should support Easymesh with its latest firmware - check this list and this topic.

Hello @SteMcc ,
Welcome to our community.
As Terziyski said, the Archer AX12 should support EasyMesh.
If you have two EasyMesh-compatible routers, you can set up an EasyMesh network: How to add a router to an EasyMesh network as a satellite device.
If you have an EasyMesh-compatible extender, you can refer to How to add an extender to an EasyMesh network as a satellite device.

@terziyski
This is why I said the TPL website is incorrect.
My manual says 'Go to Advanced > EasyMesh, and enable EasyMesh.' Well there is no EasyMesh option under Advanced .
The firmware is 1.1.28 Build 20250523 Rel. 65103(4555) and it says it is up to date.
What else can I do....

This what I have:
Firmware Version 1.1.28 Build 20250523 Rel. 65103(4555)
Hardware Version Archer AX12 v1.0
There is no option to enable EasyMesh as detailed in the manual.
Do I have an older AX12 that cannot be updated?

Post a screenshot of your AX12 Advanced tab here.
What's the FW region of your AX12 - this should be printed on its bottom sticker - details.
Try using a new incognito / private tab or another browser to exclude any browser cache issues.
Your FW version is the latest official release on the global support portal. Normally your WebGUI should look like this:

On the Firmware Version 1.1.28 Build 20250523 Rel. 65103(4555:
I don't know what the point 4 means, but I noticed the little arrows on the Security and System menu, which don't exist in the older versions.
What do you see if you click on the System menu ?
If you bought this router in January this year, it means it's FW has been updated either automatcally or manually to the current (latest) version.
If the update didn't go well you can reset the AX12, re-configure from scratch and check if that helps. (Make a configuration backup before reset the router).
If that doesn't help you can try to update the router FW with the same FW version manually and check if that helps.
If you get an error during the manual update, you can follow the FW recovery procedure here (Case 2) to update it.

@SteMcc
This is what is under System
I downloaded the latest FW and went thru the procedure to upload and then update but it said there was an error on each of 3 attempts.
What now..?

I followed the instructions for Windows OK and then went on to;
- Power off the router first, then hold the WPS button (Some models may use Reset button) on the back of the router and power on the router for 5 seconds until there’s only a LED lights orange in the middle.
Powered off, then held the button in, powered on and after 5 secs a green light came on. Held it longer and then 2 greens and an orange. Released button and router just ended up doing a reboot.
Could only then access router as normal...
