Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Hello,

I am trying to set up a VPN server on my home network for remote access.

I have created an open VPN ddns due to a dynamic ip on the deco app. When I check the ddns address from the net it returns the correct public IP address that is assigned to my router.

I then created a VPN server using open vpn on the app. All looks active.

I exported the VPN file and imported it into open VPN app on IOS but it does not connect.

I installed open VPN on to windows laptop and again imported the exported configuration file but again it does not connect. I tried TCP and UDP. Exported and imported new configuration file after each change but still will not connect.

Am I missing something? Do I need to do anything with port forwarding?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi, welcome to the community.

Is the IPV4 address(on the Deco APP>More>Internet Connection>IPV4) on the Deco also the same as your current public IP address?

By the way, the latest firmware of Deco BE65_V2 is 1.2.0 now. If you haven't updated to this version, please manually install this firmware first:

Deco BE65/BE65 Pro 1.2.0 Enhanced Mesh Network Stability and System Security

After that, could you send an email to support.forum@tp-link.com with the following details:

Subject: [Forum Escalation][ID 840368]Deco BE65 OpenVPN Server

  • A copy of the OpenVPN config file
  • The web UI system log

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.
